I’ve first met Ioana in the fashion news announcing her as the winner of the Designer for Tomorrow Award. It was a strong teaser for her name because, after that, I constantly looked for her designs. Eventually, I had my first crush on the Daisy Black Sweatshirt. I was obviously not the only one and the Instagram proved that with many beautiful images depicting the feminine sleeve ruffles of that sweatshirt.

So, I was one of the fancy girls wearing Ioana Ciolacu’s designs and as an online shopping savvy I was the first Romanian client of her official online store.

Eventually I’ve met Ioana in person during a fashion workshop and I’ve discovered a relaxed woman and a passionate professional. She has a very down-to-earth creative path and I was impressed that she even learned some programming in order to better understand the “life” of her online shop.

I’ve got to know her designs from top to bottom by now and, while wearing them, I can clearly say that they create the best fashion setup for feminity. They are comfortable, creative and covetable.

And these are quite the same qualities I can say about the Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe model. You can always find the proof here.

I am sure you all agree now that Ioana Ciolacu’s story fits perfectly the SHE’s Mercedes  community where women can share their own perspectives about success, talk about challenges, spread ideas, talent and genuine elegance.

Veronica Zaharia, the creative signature behind Parlor brand, is delicate and discreet. And it is these two personal attributes that make her observant and therefore a genuine observer of the feminine universe. She trained her eye for the details that can instantly capture the feminine spirit: either they come from a memory with her style-provoking grandmother or from a fashion-savvy conversation with a client.

Veronica has her creative pockets full of feminine insights. They blossom into wonderful design details. That’s why, when you see her dresses, you can not simply say you like them. You recognize yourself into them!

We all give ourselves in the carousel of daily activities. But it is the personal micro culture of our inner life that leads to many petaled mind blossoms and creativity. Our personal set of objects and people and inspirations and fragments of cozy experiences make the MEMORABLE bits. Therefore, in order to spend some good time, one needs to invest in his moments.

I love this concept of “a personal micro-culture” — as an eloquent way to capture the most defining aspects of ourselves. And the measurement of such coziest moments is best done with the Hygge watches. This I know! In all Scandinavian cultures, “Hygge” is a concept that evokes “coziness”, particularly when relaxing with good friends or loved ones.

Therefore I was very honored when asked to be an ambassador for the Hygge Watches.  And I was very inspired when asked to draw the passion-driven campaign for this watches. I’ve known Ioana for more than 10 years and during all this time she generously offered me only opportunities to discover her charming personality. First of all she is beautiful, delicate and polite and every interaction with her is a celebration of genuinely kind relationships.  She is dedicated to her work without being flashy about it. All the credits for the new face of petocuri.ro go to her. She believed in this project so strongly that she was the one lending me the confidence to relaunch it.

Sports@night is a new concept for performance and creativity, with professional gear including ALEXANDERWANGxHM, acrobats, trap music, popup store, Missy Elliot.

This was the spirit of the collection’s launch event in NYC. The flavor of this wonderful fashion experience resembled one of my running sessions in the park: wonderful sporty gear, great music, inspiring rhythm. Therefore I took my Iphone to get a recorded glimpse of this fashionable NYC adventure, I chose my running power song as soundtrack and I borrowed the cheering language from my running apps. And now I have my most fashionable race ever!

Tomorrow the collection hits the selected stores in Bucharest and we all win! :-)

What does it take to bring football and fashion together? Well, just take one Giselle Bundchen, one World Cup Trophy and one LV case and stir them withing great footage. And that’s about all my interest in The World Cup :)

Always celebrating the best italian style, Peroni Nastro Azzurro invited the visitors of Romanian Design Week to capture bits of the brand’s fascinating world. The renowned hospitality of the Italians was beautifully displayed at Casa di Peroni, within the exhibition of Instalart/Obiect/002 inspired by Peroni.
Peroni’s involvement in this project comes in line with all the other brand activities  showing the heightened connection to design, refinement, style and creativity. Always a great supporter of the artistic initiatives, Peroni created again the right context for the symbols of the Italian way to offer generous sips of inspiration. Enjoy!

I admit honestly, most of my shopping adventure is happening rapidly in online. Still, every now and then, I give myself the time and the joy of experiencing the delightful feeling of wondering through stores. When this happens, it happens at Baneasa Shopping City. I get in my car and somehow the road takes me toward this shopping destination. Maybe it is because I know I can get a good coffee as a bonus or simply because I know by heart the children wear stores and I love them. But it is like having imaginary circulation signs that take me there. Really! Watch the proving video!

Bella Freud.

You surely know her knitwear sold on net-a-porter.com and adorned by fashion darlings like Kate Moss or Alexa Chung. But more than that, Bella is a native speaker for all the artistic languages that can smoothly blend and create an inspiring fashion film. As Sabine Durrant from The Guardian best puts it, “she’s the scion of an artistic dynasty”. So it was only natural for me to set in motion for a story with Bella Freud. When meeting her, I fell in love with her attitude and felt uplifted by her talent. All in all, she really has an understated way of illustrating the real meaning of “aristocratic”.

This video springs from a very personal story. When wearing my “Je t’aime Jane” sweater at an informal gathering, a person that I didn’t actually know came to me and started a conversation about Gainsbourg home in Paris and its ever-changing graffiti work. Starting that very moment I had this traveling objective: visit Serge Gainsbourg house in Paris. Of course, besides that, I gained a new and arresting conversation friend. I realized then that there are lots of possible stories weaving from Bella Freud fine merino wool’s threads. Her every design has a message, an idea, a personal happening that can be further built on, depending on the wearer’s encounters. Bella is not giving you a mere fashionable item. She is giving you a loose detail, a keen perception, a wit affair, a key that you can use to further write your own story, to open new perspective by adding your own personal semantics to it.

So, we chose 3 jumpers from Bella Freud collection and made a fashion cut with 3 different stories, outlining Bella’s personal creative trigger with each one of them. Her bits: an unexpected happy confusion, her visual narration of the ’90s heritage and the genuine insightful logo drawn by her well-known artist father, Lucien Freud.

This video makes me very proud! Meeting Bella made me very happy!

It all started from a friendly message received from the 109 creative duo. Basically they were announcing a summerish launch: perfect white tshirts with illustrated or hand-written bits of fun. Further on, the girls were explaining their creative flow. The principle is very simple: “we have different kind of humour, but we laugh together and when the humour cloud appears, this is what we come up with”. And then a link with all the high res pictures followed confirming their sayings.

I read the message carefully and I laughed imagining it. You have below my exact understanding of it. Hope you like it. :)

She is a “backstage” person. And yet, not only she thoroughly knows what is happening in front, but she has her way of discerning quality in small details, fading shades or dim ideas.

I first decided to have an interview with Izabela when having an informal chat over a cup of coffee, when she threw with first hand information about fashion with an elaborated simple insouciance. She knows the chronology of fashion and she is still in love with the bohemian beginnings. In an era of blogs, fashion 2.0 and data savvy digital runaway, Izabela knows how to refresh the fragrance of an elaborated print and good documented writing because, again, she has her way with details.

And it was her long and meticulous relationship with fashion that made me ask her a few references on luxury. Of course, she could just rank some brands, but she went beyond the first curtains. And she gave me the jazzy definition. Just watch!

It was her that I first saw wearing a diaphanous silk rope as a loose cardigan over a tshirt, practicing an ethereal elegance for the day look. Noemi is inventive. Her style has vitality because she has a genuine cordial spirit that is easily translated into creativity.

She makes fashion personal. Her every story, passion, book, long trip or daily encounter has a reference in the way she dresses. And then, there is also her talent of beautifully displaying her admiration and friendship through clothes. I think she is one of the best “DJs for the Romanian designers”, as only on her you can see this mix&match&joy formula.

I liked it very much and therefore I wanted to share with you Noemi’s bohemian circumstances. Press “Play”! :)

She is one of the most disciplined persons at job. When it comes to style she is irreverent. She does not necessarily wears something because it is on trend, on catwalk and so on. It happens so, mainly because she likes it. And she does it with such confidence that in the end she persuades anyone into embracing her choices.

Accessories are just triggers for her stories. The same as the lead opens a news report. Maybe you don’t like what she is wearing all the time. But then she comes, she smiles, she tells you a story and bang! You’re charmed! Watch the short video. You will agree!

“How do you dress for your city?” is the name of a new campaign that I am now launching on the event of vickipedia’s new look. Basically, it is a question that I want to address to cool people that breath the urban vibe and have the consciousness of their look. They know that their presence, with each and every detail – including clothes, passions, bicycles, cigarettes, opinions and so on – can bring a fine touch to the silhouette of the city they live in. I have neither lessons to teach, nor verdicts to announce. Just a glance at the universe of some people I like.

My first “fellow citizen” is Mihai Gurei who is a native speaker for both music and design. And these influences turned into a rich conversation. Enjoy!

People you’ve met are always a good barometer when ranking the cities you most like. You would often hear “it was nice, the people were nice” in the dialogue depicting the city. And, of course, besides smile, attitude and civilization, clothes are the main contributor for the general impression.

This is why, sometimes, when walking through the Old Town in Bucharest one might get the feeling of a city break in a more fashionable city. I strongly believe in the “dress responsibly” concept! The way we act and the clothes we wear in our daily errands bring a personal touch to the city’s silhouette. My first demo is the movie below.

We made it on the streets of the Old Town and one of the first questions when seeing it was whether it was shot in Bucharest. It is true that the special look of Silvia Popescu, the fine styling of Andreea Macri and the cinematic cut of Andrei Nica had a big contribution.

Informatia de moda s-a frant intr-un caleidoscop: colturi de imagini frumos colorate care te fascineaza, dar la final, nu iti transmit un mesaj coerent. Internetul a democratizat informatia de moda, ceea ce, in principiu poate fi un lucru bun. Dar uneori, din pricina tumultului de informatie si a contestarilor vehemente din industrie, efectul nu mai este nici macar de caleidoscop, ci de banala oglinda sparta. Fiecare pretinde ca reflecta imaginea frumoasa, fara sa ii pese ca, de fapt, fara ceilalti nu face decat sa deformeze imaginea completa si reala.
Moda nu mai este in primul rand despre alegeri, ci despre sentinte. Reviste, editori, stilisti sau bloggeri de moda nu mai ilustreaza prin tipar, cuvant, compozitie sau pixeli mesajul modei. Sunt instante. Fiecare mai buna sau mai dreapta decat cealalta dar toate confuzante oricum. Iar in final, ramane intrebarea: care ar trebui sa fie reperele unei femei in ceea ce priveste stilul?
In acest context mi se pare cu atat mai binevenit cel mai recent proiect al Andreei Raicu si al Roxanei Voloseniuc, redactor sef Elle: Stylepedia. Codul bunelor tinute. Un ghid practic care te invata ca moda este un alt fel de lectura a societatii in care traim, cu diferite intonatii. Iar daca cineva nu poate decripta din prima mesajul cu toate valurile lui stilistice, ideea este sa il oferi exemple si sa educi, nu sa pui etichete.

Nu se intampla asa datorita vreunei documentari generate de faptul ca lucram la o revista glossy. Erau pur si simplu flash-uri de simpatie datorita carora Irina s-a asezat confortabil in folderul meu cu “favorites”. Candva, cumva urma sa colaboram, stiam asta, dar amanam, la fel cum amani un desert bun doar ca sa fii sigur ca savurezi momentul. Prima sedinta foto cu Irina, pentru PeTocuri, a fost si prima confirmare prin fotografii care cred ca ii surprind fidel spiritul si atitudinea.

Acum, in contextul unui proiect pe care il pregatim pentru primavara, am descoperit-o pe Irina dincolo de perdelele de PR in discutii in care se amesteca prietenia si creativitatea. Asa am descoperit universul Irinei, adica secretul talentului ei de a innobila hainele, fie ca ele sunt prezentate pe catwalk sau chiar de ea, in drumurile si intalnirile obisnuite.
Am ajuns firesc la concluzia ca Irina ar fi un “guest editor” ofertant pentru citioarele PeTocuri asa ca am invitat-o sa scrie pentru revista. In aceasta calitate ea ar putea sa dea sfaturi legate de moda. Dar, mai bine decat atat, Irina poate sa dezvaluie episoade de feminitate si sa sugereze o posibila versiune a ceea ce inseamna stilul. Asa ca, in fiecare luna, Irina Marinescu va scrie un articol despre cum este ea. Pana atunci, iata si portretul PeTocuri.

Probabil ca as putea sa incerc sa descriu sec, prin teorii si axiome despre design. Dar, pentru ca beneficiez de doua creatii Adrian Oianu in propriul dressing, prefer sa le descriu printr-o experienta personala. Pentru ca, intr-un moment aparte al existentei mele, am simtit la modul cel mai direct cum rochiile semnate de Adrian Oianu definesc feminitatea in termeni de miscare si nu de forme anatomice. Rochiile lui nici nu ascund, nici nu evidentiaza. Iti urmeaza silueta si o lasa pe ea sa isi spuna soptit mesajul. Daca vrea.

Mi-a placut mult acest sentiment asa ca am inceput o documentare serioasa si, impreuna cu colegele mele de la www.petocuri.ro am mers direct la sursa. Iata mai jos si opinia autorului.

Colectia de bratari lansata de Malvina m-a cucerit chiar din momentul in care i-am auzit povestea. Mi-a placut in primul rand ca fiecare model de pandantiv are un mesaj. Eu am primit un trifoi si, de fiecare data cand port bratara, imi aduc aminte de conventiile din copilarie cand cautam norocul printre florile din gradina si credeam
in acest noroc cu puterea unui joc inocent. In plus, acum am si motivatia unui accesoriu foarte chic datorita caruia ceasul meu se evidentiaza tot mai mult.
