On Saturday I’ve seen again “Last Days of Disco” with Chloë Sevigny. Again I’ve experienced the funny felling of admiring this girl that I don’t particularly find very beautiful. Somehow, she is fascinating! Either in scenes from the club or from the office, I really liked her style. And the movie is from 1998.
At about the same time, in New York, Chloë Sevigny had her fall/winter 2013 presentation at Saint Mark’s Church in the Bowery in the East Village neighborhood of Manhattan. Seeing reviews from this cool happening led to a visual explanation for her fascinating backbone.
Between the protest movement-inspired looks and the screeching guitars of the bands that performed, defiance was rampant. Stone-faced models picketed with painted signs bearing messages like “IT’S TIME TO HAVE SEX” and “FLIRTY FISHING”. Meanwhile behind the protesters, some of the coolest bands took turns playing. As for the fashion register, it was all about the 60s cool girl.
Chloë Sevigny for Opening Ceremony was as Chloë as it gets.
