Ermanno Scervino / “La Donna”

The Ermanno Scervino fw13/14 show was about the feminine character expressed in the genuine Italian way. A form of extravagant magnetism and sensuality pertaining to the Italian woman, best contoured by a reinterpretation of men tailoring and dressmaking techniques.

The result: sophisticated and social women, full of masculine sartorial elements fused with elaborated couture womanhood.

Evoking relaxed elegance, Scervino tweaked the proportions of a classic men gray wool suit to adapt it to a woman’s curves. Asymmetric gray wool dresses and skirts carried volume at the side thanks to extra pleated inserts of fabric. The hourglass coats in men fabrics and tailored dresses with subtle capped sleeves were among other smart options. And yet, every moment of the presentation marked the celebration of womanhood by putting on the spotlight the classic feminine elements: the fur, the leopard print, the floor-grazing dress and the fine accessories.

The new collection proposes a contamination of genres that leads to a more chic and glamorous urban princesses. Pick your favorite!
