Fusion Fashion
Running and styling
Running is definitely one of my hobbies. In time it was properly and thoroughly “investigated”, so that it came to a point that it blossomed fully and started influencing other parts of my life. Suddenly, it was no longer about running, but also about running and styling. This hobby started to bring me more references in my life, than just physical performance. Now, whenever I have some errands to do, a blue windbreaker from Stella McCartney is the go –to piece. For a stroll in the park the first choice is always Nike free run in leopard print or New Balance sneakers and, I don’t know how, but a Venessa Arizaga bracelet comes perfect with a Nike SportWatch in fluo. Of course, this can happen the other way around, when running in outfits that include Michael Angel leggings or some eye-catching jewelry. However, I don’t compromise functionality over style when it comes to running gear. Stick to materials and garments that are vaguely within the boundaries of sportswear but cannily know what works from a high fashion context. There should always be a way to harmonize the two by identifying which ready to wear pieces look great and perform just as well.
However, with this kind of “fusion fashion” approach, Project Runway now has two equally important meanings: running and styling. Here is an exaggerated version!
